The Nakamichi RX-202 transport features UDAR, Nakamichi's
unique uni-directional auto-reverse mechanism, eliminating the azimuth
error loss of conventional auto-reverse decks. The music sensing circuit monitors playback and fast forwards through blank 'tail' to provide uninterrupted playback. A dual master fader creates smooth 2 or 4 second fades at a touch. The
frequency response of the RX-202 rivals that of most 3-head decks
thanks to a specially design Laminated Sendust record/play head.
This vintage unit has been fully tested by a technician before anti-tamper stickers were placed. Serial number also has been recorded.
The clear plastic cover for the tape loading tray has been fixed onto the tray (glued) to eliminate tray vibration, improve auto-reverse and tape load operation. The loose fitting clear plastic door from original design has been considered as a Nakamichi's design mistake.
Shown signs of previous use such as scratches, fade spot, worn-out corner, color stains.... Please consider photos are part of description. See photos for more details. The internal electronics circuit is in original condition. No signs of previous repair or mofdification. The tape transport mechanism are in original condition except all transport belts have been replaced to ensure smooth operation. Pinch Roller and Idle Tire have been resurfaced. Lubed captain motor bushing and all moving part in tape transport mechanism. Play head and all metal on tape path are demagnetized, cleaned and tested for tape tracking and reading. All dials, toggle switches, buttons, indicator lights, all inputs and outputs are tested. Forward, Rewind, Play and Record to cassette tape from line input and microphone are tested. Sound output is crisp and strong on both line output and headphone Use 120V / 60Hz U.S. AC Power Only
